Now I know Vidahost can't really spend loads of money getting amazing original images so I've got an idea.

Why not feature your clients, yes I know they are not all as young and handsome as me but thats the point we are all different and perhaps Vidahost should celibrate that by saying some like "Bob uses Vidahost to serve his takeaway customer" well perhaps not takeaways :-)

To ensure your site will be compatible with PHP 5.3, please check you are running the latest version of any software your site runs. Most popular software is now 5.3 compatible.

When you think of SEO you think of keywords and backlinks, however there's a bit more stuff you can do to help yourself: creating a Youtube presence. Why? Well, Youtube is owned by Google and also Youtube videos are indexed in Google - so there's two benefits straight away.

Here's how to get a quick presence on Youtube, and generate some reasonable videos for FREE!

It takes about 3 minutes to setup a Youtube account:

1) Signup for an account at YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. by clicking Create Account in the top right

You'll need to create an account, however it's straightforward. Don't forget to fill in the website address in your profile so you can have a backlink.

One you've got an account - how do you get a few videos on there?

2) Goto Animoto - The End of Slideshows

In Animoto you create an account and then create 30 second films for free. It needs some pictures (products?) and some text. In Animoto you can set the music (got some in there to choose from), the theme graphics (got some in there to choose from), and you just upload your pictures, and re-arrange them into a sequence. It takes care of all the rest.

Finish up, and it will create the movie for you, which it then has the option of Exporting to Youtube. And it's done!

I'm curious as to whether many people have implemented this kind of setup. In theory it sounds very appealing - manage 1 install of whichever flavour of CMS you use (Wordpress, Drupal, MODx etc) but serve multiple sites.

I haven't yet got it working on any of my sites, which is half the reason I'm posting! I'm currently working through a couple of references for how to set this up, but so far not having any luck. The actual process for setting this up within the CMS doesn't seem to bad, but I think it is the following that is giving me grief, as this tutorial is...

I like it more the Google, but that's not hard as I rate google as now a pathetic system for actually searching on a subject (even more so if you are logged in to a Google account).

Still having said that as I make my dog's living from websites and 70-90% of all my traffic comes from google I have to deal with it, know about it and use it.

Have you seen the new webmaster tools on Bing now ? I've been rechecking all my sites on there this morning and I'm very impressed with what they now show, take a look, I think now Yahoo are showing Bing results too and Microsaft are buying inclusions in films and TV, we might see some cracks appear in Google's painted face.

It's not really a commercial project, just what I could do for them when I had a some spare time.

It's built in Wordpress 2.92, no blog, just using page management on there and a few plugins - to create the reservation calendar - a really cool plugin that is. It's called Booking Calendar, and you can download a working version for free from Online Booking Calendar - wordpress plugin for online reservation and availability checking service for your site.. If you want to take payment online or allocate seasonal pricing then you have to fork out 119USD - quite reasonable if you're getting loads of bookings online.

As for my site - Lamargo Land

It's my online/gaming persona and blogg using WP. I've created sites for others many times in the past, mainly using PHPnuke based sites, but never quite got around to doing my own until now. It's quite odd not having someone tell you where to put this link or what color X should be etc in fact, it's given me a fair share of mental blocks so developing it in to what I want is challenging as I have no clear goal but at the same time it's quite fun as I only have myself to worry about! :)

Any thoughts or feedback are greatly appreciated, as are suggestions for content that I could add in there. I have the site tied up with my twitter and facebook page already and have been tormenting my friends list with updates! ;)
