Client deleted an important folder by accident. Someone got confused and deleted /admin/images rather than /assets/images. They rang up in a total panic and within 20 minutes I had recovered it all by using R1Soft on the server.

How cool is that?

Compare that to another hosting that we deal with for a client, and it had problems because some files were accidentally deleted by client, and I rang up the hosting company to get a backup and got stuck in a queue of 30 minutes on the phone and then was promptly told they don't do backups.

I love it how Vida go over and above what everyone else does!

It's great, I once had to phone up another hosting company on behalf of a customer only to be told after 40 mins that there would be a 48 hour delay AND and £30 charge!!!

Vidahost are simply unbeatable

I agree. Vidahost are fantastic. I have never known such great service from any business.

Yep, luckily I haven't had to use R1Soft yet but I can sleep better at night knowing its there

Glad to hear it was useful

Our R1Soft backup system is used several times a day now (including by me as I test internal things!) - so much so that we'll be tripling our backup capacity soon!

A new version of the software will also be available soon which will bring a huge number of improvements such as (hopefully) direct access to MySQL backups without needing to contact us.

Its saved me a few times as well and as Dom suggests if the next version brings access to MySQL backups it will be the ultimate backup solution I think.

It's got a shiny button on the homepage but our site is very cluttered now. I probably take 5 calls a day about simple things which are listed on our homepage!
