domain problems

Hi guys.

Im currently trying to start up my website and earlier i bought my domain name from 123reg.co.uk and then i sorted out my web host from Vidahost. I recieved the welcome email i recieved from Vidahost and at first i didnt notice a part in the emal that said i have to change the nameservers from 123reg's to the host i.e vidahost if the domain name was bought from another company (i.e not from Vidahost).

I did this step earlier on my 123reg.co.uk account and changed the nameservers from theirs to the ones for Vidahost but still when i type my website address into the address bar it still has the 123reg.co.uk's default page for new websites rather than Vidahost's branded page which it should be.

Im totally confused to be honest. Can someone put my mind at ease

Welcome to Vidahost and to the forums! This will be DNS caching from your ISP - sometimes it can take up to 24 hours (but usually less) for changes to filter through

Just got home from work and checked my site and the front page has changed slightly from the 123 reg default page to some random page which ive not got a clue what it means . Here is a pic -



Also since last night ive been trying to install Wordpress and for some reason it keeps on coming up with this message everytime -

Installatron is unable to install on a domain that is not resolving/loading to this web account.

If this is a new web hosting account, or if this is a newly registered domain, please allow up to 24 hours for the domain to begin working (though usually within a few hours).

If you're sure that the domain is correctly loading to your web account, contact your web hosting administrator.

Any ideas guys?

That screenshot means that your domain is pointing at your webspace OK ... but there's nothing in your webspace.

Installatron probably hadn't realised the domain was pointed to the server - iIf you could e-mail support@vidahost.com with what you need we'll get that sorted out for you (a Wordpress install in the root directory I presume ) - the forums are more for discussion as we don't check them so often

Sorry for the late reply Dom. Its all sorted now mate. A guy i know, helped me sort the problem so its all fine now. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated dude.
